The Mother-In-Law Roast

This roast is so good it'll even impress your mother-in-law!

As the weather starts to cool off, there are some foods I really start to crave and my mother-in-law's delicious roast beef is one of them. It makes our house smell so amazing all day long and fills our bellies with warm, delicious beef at dinner time.

This recipe was handed down to my mother-in-law from her mother-in-law who got it from someone who got it from someone. So we aren't exactly sure the origins of it, but we are sure of one thing, it is the best tasting roast you'll ever have! It is also super simple which is right up my alley as well.

Serves around 6 (depending on the size of the roast)

Ingredients:

  • 3-5 lb beef roast

  • 1 packet of brown gravy mix

  • 1 packet of Hidden Valley Ranch Salad Dressing & Seasoning Mix

  • 1 packet of Good Seasons Italian Salad Dressing & Recipe Mix

  • 1 cup of water

Directions:

  1. Mix all three packets of seasoning together in a bowl with a fork.

  2. Place thawed roast on a plate. Pour a third of the seasoning mix on top and rub it in.

  3. Flip the roast over. Pour another third of the seasoning mix on and rub it in.

  4. Place roast in crockpot and pour the rest of the seasoning mix on top of the roast.

  5. Add the cup of water to the crockpot.

  6. Cook on low for eight hours.

  7. Check temperature to make sure it is at least 140 degree F.

  8. Remove roast from crock-pot and shred using two forks.

  9. Enjoy!

If you could from frozen, cook for twelve hours on low.
